Summer is coming to an end. As August has slipped through our beachy waves and we’re trading in our board shorts for jeans, let me take a moment to recount my trusty eco-friendly beauty favorites of the month of August. To keep things simple, I will name one favorite skincare, one beauty, and one random product.
August means hot sweltering sun rays, making for a sweaty oily complexion. I needed something that would keep my skin moisturized but not leave an unpleasant greasy finish. Lily Loves Pearl Light Balance Moisturizing Lotion for Oily/Combination Skin kept my skin moisturized and balanced throughout the month of August. Its scent is a mix of green tea and neroli — a combination of zen and citrus –with other ingredients including sunflower oil, olive oil, and rosehip oil. The texture is light and quickly absorbs into my skin, leaving a semi matte but moisturized finish. I’m going to use it throughout September and see if its moisturizing properties can hold up against cooler weather.
I’ve recently taken a liking to blushers. During the month of August, I stuck to a powder blush to keep my complexion matte. My everyday flush was Marie Natie Blush in Feel Natural, a great nude rose for the day time. The blusher lasted way into the evening and didn’t rub off despite having to give bisous to my friends. I’m looking forward to trying different blusher shades for fall, something darker perhaps? Suggestions are always appreciated.
My favorite random product is my new handy dandy mask mixer, complete with a bowl, mixer, measuring tool and brush for application, which makes mixing my favorite mask that much easier. You’ll be seeing more of this baby in future posts.
